I’m not getting any side effects, is this ok?

I have been on HIV treatment for several months now. I am not getting any side effects. Is this ok? Is my treatment working?

Hi,
It’s great that you are not getting any side effects. HIV treatment affects people differently. Some people might get serious side effects others with get manageable side effects. Some people will not notice a change at all. This does not mean your treatment isn’t working.
A good way to check if your treatment is working is to have a viral load tests. If you have been on treatment for more than a couple of months this should be ‘undetectable’ (under 50). This means you virus is suppressed and the treatment is working.
