Question

What if nurse give asthma meds that HIV doctor says interact with ART

My partner in the UK has HIV he also uses an inhaler for bad breathing.the nurse gave him flutiform inhaler but his consultant said not to use it as it interferes with the ARVs, but his breathing better with it. what would be the same or similar alternative. As nurse is not that educated on HIV meds

Answer

As you are in the UK, your partner should talk to his HIV doctor straight away.
The HIV doctor can recommend alternative asthma treatment – or can change HIV meds if necessary.
The HIV doctor can also write to the GP about this.
