Q and A

Question

Can I still drink alcohol?

Can I still drink alcoholic drinks? I’m HIV positive.

Answer

Thanks for getting in touch.

There’s no reason why you can’t still drink as long as it doesn’t interfere with you taking your medication. And as with people who are negative, drinking should be done in moderation.

    Hi Tatenda,

ARVs, like any other medication shouldn’t be taken if they are out of date. This is because they may not be as effective. Or, they may not work at all. Therefore, its important that you get new meds.

Is there any reason why you’re taking out of date meds?
