Are Atenef and Atroiza the same medicines?

Hi, I started treatment on the 06-June 2017 and they gave me Atenef Pills, now this month they gave me Atroiza, are they working the same, plz help m confused

Answer

Atroiza and Atenef are both generic versions of Atripla.

This means is that they both contain the same active drugs.

    Hi Buseka,

    What you’ve been told is correct, Atrozia and Atenef are basically the same ARV. They are generic versions of Atripla and contain the same compounds.

    I’m also confused.Firstly it was given Atrozia, but today they gave me Atenef. They said it was the same thing.I’ll try it.

    Hi Precious, without more details about your health and the meds it is difficult to comment. Sometimes if your CD4 count was very low, the HIV can cause these symptoms even once you started treatment. The treatment might help if get better. Modern HIV drugs are not linked to getting pains in your feet, unless you are using a drug called stavudine, which is now very rarely used.

    Since i started pills my feets hurts a lot,is that part of the side effect? And they are getting worse cos each and every time i go to the clinic they give me different types of pills

    I found 2months back that i am HIV+ and started meds immediately with Atroiza and today when i went to the clinic to collet my meds they gave me Atenef,there will be no problem on that?

    If you’re asking can ARVs interfere with a woman’s periods the answer is no.

    I start to take Atenef in June 2017. Since I got my period after 5 years I m in prevention it normal for me to get my period?
