Q and A

Question

My CD4 is 35, is this OK?

Do I need to be worried, my CD4 is 35

Answer

Thanks for getting in touch.

A CD4 of 35 is low. It is however possible for your immune system to recover if you begin ARVs. Ideally you’ll need to start these as soon as possible.

Because its 35, you should follow the advise that’s included in this link:

    Hi Anonymous,

It’s good that you started HIV treatment (ART) already. What meds are you taking? And do you have access to your viral load results?

    Please let us know.

Hi, a CD4 count above 200 is still very good. After you start treatment, your count should get steadily higher. You are likely to be fine because the risk of HIV complication above 200 is still very low. Good luck with everything.
