Question

Is a test at 23 days accurate?

Can you advise if a 4th generation test at the GUM clinic which also detects antigens would be or should be reassuring at 23 days post exposure?

Answer

Thank you for your question.

A 4th generation test will detect 95% of infections by 4 weeks after an exposure. If you are really worried then go for a test at 28 days. UK guidelines then recommend confirming this with a test at 90 days.
