Question

Is my HIV medication causing my nausea?

I have been suffering from oral wind and nausea recently. I have been on HIV medication for over 6 years. Do you think it is related to the medication or should I go to the doctors?

Answer

Thank you for your question.

You mentioned you had been on medication for over 6 years, it would help me to give a more specific answer if you could let me know which medication you were on and if you have changed your medication recently? Do you have any other symptoms?

It is possible that this could be unrelated to your HIV medication but as with any symptom, it is important that you tell your HIV doctor just to be sure. There are medications that can help reduce nausea. For information on how to manage nausea please follow this link.
