How long does HIV survive outside of the body?
I know HIV is in sexual fluids and blood, but how quickly does it die outside
the body? After ejaculation how long is the semen infectious?

Answer
HIV is an unstable virus. Unlike some other viruses (ie hepatis C virus), it survives in open air only for a short period of time. The latest data show that HIV survives outside of the body and in non-protective medium only for several minutes.

But how long is several minutes. Also what if the blood is in liquid like water or saliva?

Different studies cite different timing-from 2-3 minutesto 40-50.
