Can Hep tests detect my HIV status?

I did a blood test not for HIV but for hepatitis B and C and it came out negative. Can they also dictect if there is HIV virus in my blood from these test carried out or do I have to do the an HIV test?

Answer

Hep B and C tests cannot detect HIV-infection. You will have to have an HIV-test to check your HIV status.
