Hello, and thank you for any advice you can offer me. I was recently diagnosed with a CD4 of 444 and a VL of 10,100. My doctor said I may want to consider beginning Atripla. Though my numbers are not all too concerning at the moment, I wonder if starting treatment this early has a better result in keeping the virus in control. Thank you for your advice!

Hi

I was diagnosed with HIV in June 2011 while pregnant and I gave birth to an HIV negative baby in Nov. I am taking Alluvia and Lamzid. I only experienced runny tummy during the first 2 weeks of taking the medication.

Of late, I've been experiencing a runny tummy, muscle and joint aches as well as weight loss. I need to know what could be the cause of these health concerns.

Thank You

Should i have seen my cd4 higher by now?
Should my viral load be zero, its never been lower than now (45)?
I want to exercise including weights but dont know what would be best for hiv+ over 45 male, where would i get this information?

Also I recently had a torn bicep my gp thinks my meds could have made my muscle structure weak is this true?, I haven't mentioned this to my hiv consultant yet, I could also make use of contact details for some support group to advise me, I'm not ready for an open forum but could benefit from some 1-1 help, i live in wakefield west yorkshire

Hello doctor
Happy xmas and new year in advance. I just want to take this time to thank you for the time you devote to answering all of our questions. May God bless you and your colleagues amen.
Anyway something has been disturbing me for a long time concerning my partner.
We are both hiv+ for four years now but what worries me is that she never wants to exercise and her cholesterol is increaseing gradullay to 240 and treglyceride also same.
I also want to know why she doesn't want to have sex with me again. When I asked her she said she doesn't have feelings anymore or there's no sexual urge in her.
So what can she do or any test that she can run to find the solution for it? She's currently taking sustiva and truvada. Tthanks.

Dear Team, I have posted this question in different formats, but still i would like to give one more try.

I started my medication with CD4 273 - Truvada and efavirenz. Almost 8 + months over. Test after 6 months -more than CD4 - 685 Viral load - undetectable.

However Sustiva is nearly taking a toll on my mind. Everynight dreams, not able to wake up in time as i am not able to come out of the dream.

Checked with friends & close HIV positive people. Each one has given different opinion:
1) Mind over body, get over it, you will feel better.
2) Think about millions of people in africa who cannot afford medicine.
3) Dont try self pity.... Blah Blah Blah....
4) Take Truvada and Efavirenz in the morning if you cant handle night.

Of all which none of the above reasons really make me feel better. True, i am fortunate that i can afford medicines and live healthy life. At the same time, I feel efavirenz is not what i want. Especially when it affects my career while i am not able to get up to work and feel tired or not being ambitious enough.

Last option i did outburst to my doctor who replied "dear patient, if that is what you feel i can change your medicine but it will cost you 200$ SGD to 1000$ SGD, try surfing the net about atazanavir (Reyataz), Kaletra, darunavir (Prevista) or raltegravir".

The above reply from the doctor came after me forcing the doctor to give me a solution that doesn't affect my Central Nervous system. As i need my brain to clearly think about my life and be positive in life.

What are the medcines do you suggest?

One of my chat friends said he has been on Truvada and Viramune since 2004 with no discernible side effects. His viral load is still undetectable and he works out regularly.

Is it possible can you suggest me a good combination of medicines.

I am perfectly healthy otherwise and try to live healthily.... Can you help me please?
