Session 5: Drug resistance and approaches to peer advocacy

The final session had two very different subjects:

1. HIV drug resistance
2. i-Base approach to treatment advocacy – practical guide and experience

1.   Resistance

   • Drug levels
   • Drug mutations
   • Viral load blips and rebounds
   • Tests for resistance
   • Reinfection
     Note: i-Base have an online training course on HIV drug resistance that includes a list of questions covered.
