Especially when you have many things to think about the time can go really quickly.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It helps to have a plan &#8211; and to first find out about what is involved<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Start with getting all the information you need.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>How many pills do you need each day?<\/li>\n<li>How often do you need to take them?<\/li>\n<li>How exact do you have to be with timing?<\/li>\n<li>Are there food or storage restrictions?<\/li>\n<li>Are there easier choices?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use a weekly pill box<\/strong>.\n<p>Then you can see if you miss a dose. If your clinic does not provide one, most chemists sell them for about \u00a32. i-Base can sometimes provide these free \u2013 call the phoneline for details.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><strong>Take extra HIV drugs<\/strong> if you go away for a few days.<\/li>\n<li>Keep a <strong>small emergency suppies<\/strong>. For example: in your car, at work or at a friend\u2019s.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ask friends to help<\/strong> you remember difficult dose times like when you go out at night.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use the alarm on your mobile phone<\/strong> or watch or computer for all doses. Then take your drugs when it beeps! Perhaps set the alarm just after the right time, so it is a reminder and not something you rely on.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Link your HIV drugs to another daily routine<\/strong>, such as brushing your teeth.<\/li>\n<li>An <strong>online calendar service<\/strong>, like Google, can remind you every day. Some online calendars, including Google, can sms you at the same time every day.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ask other people on ART<\/strong> what they do. How well are they managing?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Most HIV clinics can arrange for you to talk to someone who is already taking the same ART if you think that would help.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Contact your hospital or clinic if side effects are causing problems<\/strong>.
