{"id":269,"date":"2024-11-01T12:00:44","date_gmt":"2024-11-01T12:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/new\/guides\/?page_id=269"},"modified":"2024-11-23T00:07:54","modified_gmt":"2024-11-23T00:07:54","slug":"no-longer-recommended","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/i-base.info\/guides\/starting\/no-longer-recommended","title":{"rendered":"Meds no longer recommended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The following meds are no longer recommended.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>People using these earlier drugs can change to more modern combinations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/i-base.info\/guides\/3545\">Atazanavir<\/a><\/strong>: a boosted PI that has largely been replaced by darunavir.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/i-base.info\/guides\/5904\">Rilpivirine<\/a><\/strong>: an NNRTI that is also available in two single pill combinations (Eviplera and Odefsey).<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/i-base.info\/guides\/734\">Efavirenz<\/a><\/strong>: an NNRTI that is now only sometimes used during pregnancy and then changed.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/i-base.info\/guides\/8928\">Elvitegravir<\/a><\/strong>: an integrase inhibitor that needs to be boosted with cobicistat.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/i-base.info\/guides\/3543\">Nevirapine<\/a><\/strong> is an old NNRTI that is only used in people already taking this drug.
