They are also low enough to minimise the risk of side effects.<\/p>\n<h2>A missed or late dose increases the risk of resistance<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1908\" src=\"https:\/\/i-base.info\/guides\/files\/2009\/06\/missed.png\" alt=\"Missed dose = low drug levels\" width=\"351\" height=\"250\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Missing or being late with a drug lets the drug levels fall to a level where resistance can develop.
