{"id":10965,"date":"2003-04-01T09:46:30","date_gmt":"2003-04-01T09:46:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/i-base.info\/htb\/?p=10965"},"modified":"2014-05-28T15:59:53","modified_gmt":"2014-05-28T15:59:53","slug":"global-fund-gives-210-million-for-treatment-in-thailand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/i-base.info\/htb\/10965","title":{"rendered":"Global Fund gives $210 million for treatment in Thailand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Graham McKerrow, HIV i-Base<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria has given US$209.7 million to Thailand to treat the rising number of cases of all three illnesses caused by an influx of migrant workers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is the largest donation given to an Asian country by the fund and will enable the government to distribute antiretrovirals and drugs to treat secondary infections such as TB.<\/p>\n<p>Public Health Minister Sudarat Keyuraphan said: \u201cWe expect that all HIV-positive people that have shown symptoms will have access to the medicines within five years.
