{"id":13720,"date":"2010-08-26T05:43:32","date_gmt":"2010-08-26T05:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/i-base.info\/htb\/?p=13720"},"modified":"2012-07-27T12:01:40","modified_gmt":"2012-07-27T12:01:40","slug":"launch-of-new-ema-website","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/i-base.info\/htb\/13720","title":{"rendered":"Medical resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Launch of new EMA website<\/h2>\n<p>The European Medicines Agency has launched a new website, accessible at the same address:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ema.europa.eu\">http:\/\/www.ema.europa.eu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>New features include: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quick medicine searches: Allows you to search for human and veterinary medicines by name and active substance and for herbal medicinal substances by name.<\/li>\n<li>An online library: Enables you to search for all Agency documents currently online through a search on title and date published online.<\/li>\n<li>Improved navigation: More intuitive labelling and improved organisation of content so that browsing is quicker for all audience groups.<\/li>\n<li>Audience landing pages: Flags information of specific value to different key users.<\/li>\n<li>Online calendar and news search: Allows you to keep up to date with the latest news and events at the Agency.<\/li>\n<li>RSS feeds: Brings information straight to you as soon as it is published online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Hepatitis C drug resistance slide set<\/h2>\n<p> The Forum for Collaborative HIV Research\u0092s HCV Drug Development Advisory Group (academicians, clinicians, researchers and patient advocates) have contributed to a slide deck explaining resistance in HCV, its consequences as well as its mitigation. The slide deck explains important drug resistance concepts in HCV, including: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How resistance can arise before, during and after stopping therapy;<\/li>\n<li>The mechanism of action of direct acting antivirals (DAAs) and their effects on viral kinetics and the possibility of cure;<\/li>\n<li>How mutations lead to changes which makes the virus resistant to DAAs;<\/li>\n<li>Viral, drug and patient factors that influence treatment outcomes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hivforum.org\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=285&amp;Itemid=113\">http:\/\/www.hivforum.org\/index.php?option=com_content&#038;a<br \/>\nmp;task=view&amp;id=285&amp;Itemid=113<\/a> <\/p>\n<h2>Paediatric HIV studies: collected reports<\/h2>\n<p> The Southern African Journal of HIV Medecine (Vol 10, No 4; 2009) has published a collection of articles on paediatric care including by Polly Clayden, HIV i-Base.
