{"id":1383,"date":"2009-04-20T09:59:46","date_gmt":"2009-04-20T08:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost.localdomain\/wpmu\/htb\/?p=1383"},"modified":"2015-03-09T15:17:51","modified_gmt":"2015-03-09T15:17:51","slug":"bhiva-guidelines-for-tbhiv-coinfection-are-online-for-comment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/i-base.info\/htb\/1383","title":{"rendered":"BHIVA guidelines for TB\/HIV coinfection (2009): online for comment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The 2009 draft of the proposed BHIVA guidelines on TB\/ HIV co-infection are posted online and available for comment. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bhiva.org\/cms1223707.asp\"><br \/>\nhttp:\/\/www.bhiva.org\/cms1223707.asp<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These guidelines have been drawn up to help doctors manage adults with TB\/HIV co-infection. \u00a0 They have been extensively revised since the last edition in 2005; most sections have been amended and areas where there is a need for clinical trials or additional data have been highlighted.<\/p>\n<p>The major changes\/amendments include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A more detailed discussion of gamma interferon tests;<\/li>\n<li>An update of the drug interactions section and tables;<\/li>\n<li>An updated section on choice of NNRTI;<\/li>\n<li>A new section on isoniazid resistance and XDR;<\/li>\n<li>Guidance on the diagnosis of IRIS;<\/li>\n<li>New tables for management of adverse reactions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Guidelines Writing Group is grateful for all comments.
