{"id":2427,"date":"2007-07-03T20:46:37","date_gmt":"2007-07-03T19:46:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/moomango.co.uk\/htb\/?p=2427"},"modified":"2013-09-20T15:58:57","modified_gmt":"2013-09-20T15:58:57","slug":"uks-dfid-support-of-thailand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/i-base.info\/htb\/2427","title":{"rendered":"UK\u0092s DFID support of Thailand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>In a letter to Sarah Walden of People and Planet, Gareth Thomas from the UKs Department for International Development (DfID) supported the decision by Thailand to issue a compulsory license for HIV medications.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The letter states \u0093we continue to be a strong supporter of the right of developing countries, including Thailand, to implement the TRIPS agreement, and particularly of their right to use TRIPS flexibilities to ensure affordable access to medicines to meet public needs\u0094.
