{"id":34226,"date":"2018-06-08T10:18:49","date_gmt":"2018-06-08T10:18:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/i-base.info\/htb\/?p=34226"},"modified":"2018-06-08T12:09:43","modified_gmt":"2018-06-08T12:09:43","slug":"community-survey-on-treatment-interruptions-atis-in-cure-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/i-base.info\/htb\/34226","title":{"rendered":"Community survey on treatment interruptions (ATIs) in cure research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Simon Collins, HIV i-Base<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">A new online community survey is looking to collect community views on antiretroviral treatment interruptions (ATIs) as part of cure-related research.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The increasing focus on finding an HIV cure \u2013\u00a0and the related goal of HIV remission without ART \u2013 has highlighted the importance of participant safety in studies that ask people to stop HIV treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">As treatment interruptions are no longer recommended in treatment guidelines, the importance of understanding both risk and benefits becomes an essential aspect of informed consent for such studies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/kSLjrZuowBrPJVNh2\">\u00a0online survey <\/a>is collecting views on the different approaches to ATIs and additional information is included as part of the survey.
