Results stratified by age and sex.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\">The events included non-haemorrhagic and haemorrhagic stroke, acute myocardial infarction, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, anaphylaxis, Bell\u2019s palsy, myocarditis or pericarditis, narcolepsy, appendicitis, immune thrombocytopenia, disseminated intravascular coagulation, encephalomyelitis (including acute disseminated encephalomyelitis), Guillain-Barr\u00e9 syndrome, and transverse myelitis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\">Older age generally increased the risk of most events although <span lang=\"EN-US\">anaphylaxis, narcolepsy and appendicitis were exceptions more common at younger ages. The<\/span> incidence of most events (reported as rates per 100,000) varied significantly between different databases.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\">For example, incidence of Bell\u2019s Palsy ranged from 4 to 174\/100,000 patient years in an Italian and US database, respectively. There was also a 3-<span lang=\"EN-US\">fold difference between the highest and lowest incidence rates for deep vein thrombosis in each database.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The tables compiling these results are notably impressive and are and important reference resource.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBreferences\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Reference<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBreference-noindent\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Li X et al.
