Overall, mortality at day 28 was 17% in each arm (1222\/7351 vs 1299\/7541), rate ratio 0. 96 (95% CI: 0.89 to1.04; p=0\u00b735). Similar results were reported for all subgroups.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\">Aspirin use had a slightly shorter time in hospital (median 8 vs 9 days) and 75% vs\u00a074% were discharged alive by day 28 (p=0.0062) but there were no differences in use of invasive mechanical ventilation or death (p=0.23).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\">Although aspirin reduced thrombotic events (4.6% vs 5.3%) it also increased major bleeding events (1.6% vs\u00a01.0%).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Reference<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">RECOVERY Collaborative.
