{"id":45478,"date":"2023-06-01T07:45:42","date_gmt":"2023-06-01T07:45:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/i-base.info\/htb\/?p=45478"},"modified":"2023-06-05T13:03:18","modified_gmt":"2023-06-05T13:03:18","slug":"bhiva-annual-conference-2023-bhiva-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/i-base.info\/htb\/45478","title":{"rendered":"BHIVA Annual Conference 2023 (BHIVA 2023)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"HTBsubhead2articletitle\"><strong>24 \u2013 26 April 2023,\u00a0Gateshead, UK<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Introduction<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYFIRST\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Simon Collins, HIV i-Base<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBsubhead3authorcredit\" align=\"left\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-45481 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i-base.info\/htb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/BHIVA-conference-logo-2023.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"181\" height=\"230\" \/>This year the BHIVA conference was held in Newcastle at the Gateshead conference centre over three sunny spring days.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYFIRST\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The conference included a strong programme of presentations about HIV care in the UK and included more that 150 posters, all of which are now available online.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">BHIVA should also be recognised for making online access available so promptly. This is a really important responsibility that comes with running and arranging medical conferences, especially given the financial challenges of organising face-to-face meetings. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Wider access to the data presented, should also be appreciated by sponsors who support these meetings. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Community reports, including from i-Base, can only cover a small amount of the information that is presented, even from a single study. Our reports are primarily to flag research and to signpost to the presentations that include the full data.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"HTBBODYtext\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Please use the links in our reports to see the webcasts and see the full posters.
