\"\"On 7 July 2026, the One Voices collaboration of 15 HIV organisations launched a Patient Charter to raise awareness of the rights of Black African people living with HIV in London.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This Charter recognises the unique barriers people face due to structural racism, stigma and inequality. It clearly explains both rights and responsibilities to make sure that treatment and care is fair, inclusive and grounded in respect.<\/p>\n

Although these are rights that everyone using the NHS should routinely receive, they are often not widely known about or clearly explained.<\/p>\n

The launch meeting included several examples of when HIV stigma has led to suboptimal care and how existing prejudice shows the importance of this Charter.<\/p>\n

The document is linked to a longer 40-page report, produced jointly with NAT, that outlines the key challenges faced by Black people living in London when accessing primary care. [3]<\/p>\n
