A single CD4 count of 200 needs to be interpreted with information about when you might have become HIV positive. If you know this is a very recent infection, then even without treatment your CD4 count might increase even without treatment.<\/p>\n

For most people, it means that they were infected perhaps 5-8 years ago.<\/p>\n

Even without knowing when you were became HIV positive, all guidelines recommended starting HIV treatment (called ART).<\/p>\n

If you are not already taking ART, please talk to your doctor about starting.<\/p>\n
