It does not prevent you from getting any other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).<\/p>\n<p>As with HIV, condoms reduces the risk of other STIs including\u00a0gonorrhoea, hepatitis B and chlamydia. Condoms are less effective though against syphilis,\u00a0herpes and genital warts which are spread by skin contact.<\/p>\n<p>Regular checks with a health clinic can help keep you aware of other STIs. HIV can also increase the risk of other STIs.
