Do you know your viral load?<\/p>\n<p>If you have a viral load below 200 and on treatment it is safe to have sex with your wife without a condom. There would be no risk of transmission to your wife and baby would be safe. This is called <a href=\"https:\/\/i-base.info\/u-equals-u\/\">U=U<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are not on treatment, or your viral load is too high, your wife can also start <a href=\"https:\/\/i-base.info\/guides\/prep\">PrEP<\/a>. This is a medication used to prevent transmission to your wife. Your wife would only need to take it for as long as you are having sex without a condom.
