{"id":21171,"date":"2023-02-26T00:35:59","date_gmt":"2023-02-26T00:35:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/i-base.info\/qa\/?p=21171"},"modified":"2023-02-26T00:50:59","modified_gmt":"2023-02-26T00:50:59","slug":"will-my-cd4-count-ever-get-higher-than-100","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/i-base.info\/qa\/21171","title":{"rendered":"Will my CD4 count ever get higher than 100?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi<\/p>\n<p>This is a difficult question to answer without knowing roughly when you found out you were HIV positive and \u00a0a bit more about your treatment and history.<\/p>\n<p>In general, HIV treatment &#8211; called ART &#8211; will get nearly everyone to have a higher CD4 count.<\/p>\n<p>Even if you start ART with a low CD4 count under 100, it should steadily get higher. Starting low though just means it takes \u00a0longer time to increase.<\/p>\n<p>It is actually better for your CD4 count to do this steadily than jumping up very quickly.<\/p>\n<p>I started treatment a long time ago when my CD4 count was in single figures. It took me about a year to reach 100 and about another year to reach 200.
