Your friend is wrong with your life expectancy. Do not give him your money.<\/p>\n<p>People who are on treatment and have suppressed viral loads have the same life expectancy as people who are HIV negative. You can easily live past 60.<\/p>\n<p>As you do have a low CD4 count it would be recommended that you are on another treatment called co-trimoxazole. This is a treatment used to prevent other infections as your immune system is starting to recover.<\/p>\n<p>Many people start with a CD4 count below 10 and with treatment are able to return having a healthy immune system.<\/p>\n<p>Have you been told what your viral load is? When this is below 200\/undetectable it means HIV is no longer having an effect on your health. Your body can then start to naturally recover.<\/p>\n<p>CD4 count recovery can take a long time, often a few years. But staying on treatment and looking after your health will allow this to happen. My CD4 count is 12.<\/p>\n<p>My friend told me HIV people aged 45 live up to 60 years and if the CD4 count is less than 50 he is telling me I will live another 1 or 2 years.
