Congratulations on your baby – you must be very happy.<\/p>\n

Please don’t worry about HIV. It sounds like you are doing everything right, mostly\u00a0by making\u00a0sure you are undetectable.<\/p>\n

The guidelines in the UK suggest exclusively breastfeeding<\/span> or formula, although it\u00a0is mentioned that both options at the same\u00a0time are\u00a0used sometimes.<\/p>\n

I am not sure what the guidelines in other countries say as I am based in the UK.<\/p>\n

Please follow your doctor’s and midwife’s advice about this.<\/p>\n

I am sending you the link to two fact sheets about <\/span>breastfeeding<\/span> from the British HIV Association in case you find them useful (they also include information for people who don’t want to breast\/chestfeed).<\/span><\/p>\n
