It is given by subcutaneous injection every 6 months, but when used as treatment it needs to be used in combination with other active drugs.<\/p>\n<h2>Lenacapavir treatment<\/h2>\n<p>Lenacapavir was approved as an HIV treatment about four years ago. However, NHS in England only agreed to make it available this year in 2026. NHS Scotland made it available a little earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Lenacapavir treatment is mainly to be used by people living with HIV who have resistance to other HIV drugs.
