Even though treatment is now really good, it can still be difficult to find out you are HIV positive.<\/p>\n

HIV treatment (called ART) is now recommended for everyone after being diagnosed.<\/p>\n

Because your CD4 count is below 350 and your viral load is above 100,000, it is especially important that you start ART now.<\/p>\n

How long do you think you have been HIV positive? If this might have been recently, your clinic should also tell you the results of a RITA test. This can show if this was likely to have been in the last six months.<\/p>\n

If you are in the UK, make sure that your clinic also gives you a resistance test before deciding on which drugs you can use.<\/p>\n
