As well as viruses, other infections can affect your health. <\/strong><\/p>\n

These include bacteria, fungi, parasites and protozoa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Different types of drugs\u00a0are generally used for each type of \u00a0infection.<\/p>\n

For example, antibiotics work against bacteria but do not work against viruses.<\/p>\n

But sometimes the difference between viral, bacterial and fungal infections is not always clear.\u00a0A few drugs can sometimes treat several types of infection.<\/p>\n

Bacteria are single-cell microorganisms.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some bacteria are healthy and are good for you. Some bacteria cause disease.<\/p>\n

Bacterial infections are treated with antibiotics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These bacterial infections often affect people with HIV.<\/p>\n
