This guide includes information about the most important aspects of HIV treatment. It is written and reviewed by HIV-positive treatment people and uses everyday language to explain medical terms.

Changes to this revised and updated edition include

  • Reorganising information into new sections: ‘Age, gender and pregnancy’, ‘When to start treatment?’ and ‘What about side effects?’.
  • Including information on new clinical studies, including START. This study looks at starting treatment in some people while their CD4 count is still over 500 cells/mm3
  • Updating references to new drugs or formulations
  • Updating the format and design, increasing type size and including new personal stories about dealing with HIV and treatment.
