Guides Changing treatment and drug resistance

ARV treatment history

Your choice of new and future drugs will depend on:

  • the drugs you used in the past, and
  • the reason you stopped using them.

It is important to know whether this was because of resistance or side effects.

If you can’t remember exact details, even rough dates are useful (ie taking ddI for 6 months in 1998 etc).

Decisions relating to your treatment should always be taken in consultation with your doctor. Information in this guide is intended to support those discussions.
