Q and A

Question

Can you drink alcohol

I’ve been taking ARVS for three years. Is it Ok to drink alcohol?

Answer

Thanks for getting in touch.

Yes it’s OK to drink alcohol when you’re taking ARVs. The alcohol won’t have any affect on your HIV, nor medication. The important thing is to ensure that your drinking doesn’t interfere with you taking your medication.

    Hi Zuzu,

I’m sorry but we are not doctors at i-Base. It’s important to go to see a doctor if you have a pain next to your heart.

Are you HIV positive? Please let us know.

    Hi Zuzu,

Thanks. Yes, talking to your doctor about your treatment can help with stress too. But you are not alone in stressing too much, lots of us do it.

Good luck talking to your doctor to make sure you get the best treatment.

    Hi Zuzu,

    Thanks for this.

What does your doctor say about your results? It’s great that your viral load has gone down to 1140. But it would be good to see your CD4 count get stronger rather than go down.

However, it’s good to hear that you’re taking treatment to help protect against TB.

Once your viral load gets to under 50 copies/mL you’ll be undetectable. This will give your immune system the chance to recover and your CD4 count should go up.

Please talk to the doctor about your results. You can ask if Atroiza is working as well as it should.

    Hi Zuzu,

Are you having issues with Atrozia? If you are this is something that you need to talk to your doctor about. Depending on where you live there could be alternative treatments.

Can i change from Atroiza to something else
