When will a cure be found?

Last year on the news on sabc1 (South African TV) I heard that there is a Cape Town professor who had found a cure for HIV but it need to be tested on 100-positive and 100-negative people. I wonder if this cure will be found anytime sooner?

I have not heard about this research. Unfortunately, there are many people claiming to have found the cure for HIV who are just trying to make money or get their faces on the news. For further information you may want to follow these links to similar questions regarding claims of a cure for HIV in the media.
It is important always to remain hopeful that a cure will be found.
There is a lot of on-going research into possible cures for HIV and for better drugs.
