Question

How effective is PEP?

I have noted there is no clear guide line on the following two questions:

i) How effective are PEPs?

ii) What is the testing period after a 4 week course of nPEP?
Most of the info I find is quite old.

Answer

There is not good data on effectiveness of PEP. This is because is it not ethical to study PEP in a study which randomises people who either getting or not getting PEP.

It isĀ assumed to reduce the risk for some people, especially if started early.
