Recent HTB highlights
EARLY ACCESS
Even before the AIDS 2026 conference opens, the online programme shows some of the expected highlights.
This review covers new drugs and ART strategies, the global funding crisis, cure-related research, key populations including transgender people and community concerns including chemsex.
Lenacapavir PURPOSE-1 and -2 studies show continued high efficacy as PrEP.
New guidelines on the management of persistent low-level viraemia (LLV) by an international panel of more than 100 experts and are now published in Lancet HIV. Importantly, they recognise there can be two distinct mechanisms for viral rebound: (i) ongoing replication which can be resuppressed or (ii) viral production from reservoir site which is non-suppressible.
