New mpox vaccination sites open in the UK

On 3 February 2025, NHS England announced 12 new mpox vaccination sites.
Until recently, the vaccine was only available from clinics in London, Manchester and Brighton.
Eligibility criteria for gay and bisexual men includes having multiple partners, group sex, or visiting sex-on-premises venues. Staff at these venues might also be eligible.
Vaccine appointments will be available at the sites listed on the NHS online site finder, with the number expected to increase. The new locations are:
- Birmingham
- Nottingham
- Sheffield
- Sunderland
- Hull
- Leeds
- Liverpool
- Blackpool
- Southampton
- Bristol
- Exeter
- Hatfield, Hertfordshire
This is in addition to 19 sites already vaccinating in:
- London
- Greater Manchester
- Brighton
The current risk of mpox is still very low and many people will also be offered the mpox vaccine as part of a routine sexual health check.

Anyone who thinks they might have mpox symptoms should stay at home and contact a sexual health clinics for medical advice. Please avoid close contact with other people until you’ve been advised what to do.
