Question

Are there any guidelines for treating people with HIV?

I am HIV positive and doing well on treatment. I wondered whether there were any official guidelines on how to treat people with HIV?

Answer

Hi,

I’m glad to hear you are doing well. Most  countries have guidelines on how to treat people who have HIV. In the UK these are written by and organisation called BHIVA. This is the ‘British HIV Association’. They are the professional body for HIV doctors in the UK.

They have guidelines for treating people with HIV generally, on monitoring people with HIV, on HIV and pregnancy and others.

You can access BHIVA guidelines online.
