My partner and I are both undetectable, can we reinfect each other?

My partner and I both have the same strand of HIV. We’re also both on treatment and our viral loads are undetectable, is there a chance of reinfection?
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
As you both have your HIV under control and because you both have the same strand of HIV, it is very unlikely that you’ll reinfect in each other. So if you’re wondering if it’s OK to have sex without a condom, the answer is yes, it’s OK.
