Can I use traditional medicine while I’m on treatment?
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
When we give information about possible interactions between ARVs and medication, this is related to medication that isn’t traditional. To know if it’s possible to take traditional medication with your ARVs you’d need to discuss this with your doctor as they are likely to know the local context.
Our advice would be not to use traditional whilst on ARVs as we don’t have enough data to say if they’ll be an interaction or not.

Hello Cedric and thanks for getting in touch.
I am trying to find information online about Sejesho but I can only find it’s a laxative (without any more information about the substances).
I am not sure if it interacts with your ARVs or if by changing the motility of the gut will affect the absorption of ARVs.
So, I would suggest avoiding it.
Please also ask a pharmacist in your area that can give you more information about Sejesho.
