Can you give babies both formula and breastmilk?

My baby is 6 months old. I’m due to go back to work. Is it OK to give my baby formula during the day and then breastfeed my baby at night?

Breastfeeding guidelines vary depending on where it is that someone lives. However, mixed feeding, so breastmilk and formula isn’t recommended. Babies born to positive mothers need to be either breastfed or formula fed, this is because there is a slight risk of increased transmission.
