Can DTG (dolutegravir) now be safely used in pregnancy?

Hi, I’m HIV positive and I am 7 weeks pregnant.

My problem is that I got pregnant on a new ARV DTG and I’m scared I mighty have a baby that is disabled.

Is it okay for me to terminate the pregnancy because I’m having sleeples nights I’m so scared.

The latest research in 2021 shows that DTG (dolutegravir) can now be safely used during pregnancy. The concern was based on old information that is now out-of-date.

Please do not end the pregnancy just because of this fear.

All drugs are now recommended by the World Health Organisation.

HIV drugs do not increase any risk – they actually protect your baby against HIV.
