Question

Is Aluvia and Combozil safe in pregnancy?

Hi, I am taking lopinavir/ritonavir (Aluvia) 200 mg/50 mg and lamivudine/zidovudine (Combozil) 150 mg/300 mg. Is it really true that when pregnant and taking these pills my baby will be disabled? Please what can I do to avoid this?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

Congratulations on your pregnancy. This is a question that has been asked previously, which you can find here. Your combination is safe, other people have had similar concerns. The safest thing you can do is to continue with your medication, this will keep both you and baby healthy.

The combination you are on does not increase the risk of disability.

If you have another question please get in touch,

Josh.

    What is Combozil for?

Hi Fana, Combozil is a generic combination of AZT and 3TC (lamivudine). IT is sometimes used as part of a 3-drug combination to either treat HIV or prevent HIV (as part of PEP).

Thank you. I really was scared for that.
