Where can I find some additional general information?

A friend of mine has just told me he is HIV+ and has been for 10 years. I am just wanting to understand more about HIV and AIDS. What is CD4, viral load, etc? Are there any other websites that I can look at to educate myself a little more to be able to understand what has happend and what could happen futher in the future.
