Question

Can I use flu meds if I am not on HIV treatment?

If it is ok to take other medications for general illnesses like flu, fever headache etc while not on HIV treatment yet ?

Answer

Yes. This is not a problem.

Even though you have HIV, it is fine to use any other meds for other symptoms, just as if you were HIV-negative.

If you were on treatment, you need to check that other prescribed and over-the-counter meds don’t interact with your HIV drugs, but ‘flu and headache meds do not have these interactions anyway.
