Can I get married? I have AIDS. Please reply, I am desprate to know.
Answer
In the majority of the countries HIV-infection is not a reason that does not legally allow somebody to get married. There are some Islamic countries where it is the case though.
If the country where you live does not ban marriage when you are HIV-positive and both partners agree to get married knowing that one or both of them are HIV-positive, then getting married should not be a problem.
There are probably hundreds of thousands of couples – if not more – where one partner is HIV-negative and the other is HIV-positive.
