Does blood group has anything to do with the progression of HIV/AIDS? I have heard people say that if you are 0+, the progression rate is slow as compared to blood group A and B. Any comments?
Answer
No. The HIV disease progression is not affected by the blood group of the person.
Years ago, there were data that people with HIV-1 group 0 progress slower. This is a different thing though, it has nothing to do with the blood group. HIV-1 group 0 virus appears to be restricted to west-central Africa with a tiny number of people in other parts of the world.
