Do you know where I can find an HIV friendly dentist in London please?
Answer
Thank you for your question.
Unfortunately, as this is an HIV treatments service, we do not have a list of HIV friendly dentists. However, there are a number of approaches you could use to try and find a dentist.
The first option is to ask your HIV clinic if they know of any HIV-friendly Dentists in your area. Hospitals often have dental services that you can access if there are special needs (ie HIV positive).
The second option is to anonymously ring dentists in your area to find out if they treat people living with HIV.
The third option it to go through a list of dentists in London who have been recommended by positive people who have used them. You will need to type in the area in London where you live and scroll down to see which dentists have been given a good rating. Please follow this link to see this list.
Finally, if you call the i-base treatments information helpline on 0808 800 6013 I should be able to suggest a dentist for you. I cannot put these details on the website. (our helpline is free from UK landlines and most mobile phone networks).
Best wishes
thanks – good to know – and close to i-Base!
Hi, I am a dentist and I work in a private practice (not NHS) based in London Bridge. We have HIV positive people on our list and treat them with the same care and respect as everyone else we see. Our details are: Advanced Dental Practice (0207 940 0880)
